Joe, Beth and Frannie return to the Enchanted Wood and the wonderful Faraway Tree. This time their cousin Rick comes to stay and is introduced to the strange characters and magical places the children have already discovered.

Together they climb the tree to visit Moon Face, Silky and the Saucepan Man, and once again venture through the clouds into the mysterious lands that appear at the top.

Each new land has its own rules and surprises. Some are delightful places filled with treats and fun, while others prove much more troublesome. Rick soon learns that exploring the lands above the Faraway Tree can be exciting, but ignoring warnings can leave an adventurous child in considerable difficulty.

The friends encounter a colourful collection of magical characters and must use courage, cleverness and teamwork to find their way out of trouble.

The Magic Faraway Tree continues the adventures begun in The Enchanted Wood, with new lands to explore and new dangers and surprises waiting at the top of the tree.
