Joe, Beth and Frannie once again return to the Faraway Tree and their magical friends in the Enchanted Wood.

This time they are joined by Connie, a visitor who initially refuses to believe the childrens stories about the enormous tree, its unusual inhabitants and the magical lands that appear among the clouds.

Connie soon discovers that everything they have told her is true. She meets Moon Face, Silky, the Saucepan Man and the other inhabitants of the tree and joins the children on their journeys to the lands above.

As usual, the lands at the top of the Faraway Tree constantly change. Some offer wonderful adventures, while others are places from which the children are very glad to escape.

Connie gradually learns that magic is real and that adventures are much more enjoyable when friends cooperate and look after one another.

The Folk of the Faraway Tree is the third of Enid Blytons original Faraway Tree novels and continues the mixture of humour, friendship, magic and adventure that began with The Enchanted Wood.
